As a therapist, I take a systems based approach to help every individual understand how their experiences in this world have had an impact on them. In my 15 years in the field I have gained a wide variety of experience with general mental health issues including anxiety and depression. I work collaboratively with you to create a treatment plan that meets your needs. I strive to ensure a safe and non-judgmental space and always want to make sure we are working on what feels most important to you during our sessions. I utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, CBT and Psychodynamic Therapy.
I have worked extensively with marginalized populations including the BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities and work from an anti-racist/anti-oppressive model.
As a person with lived experience in the LGBTQ+ community I understand that it is important for everyone to have a safe space to share their experiences and feel heard without any judgement and without leaving your cultural experience and identity out of therapy. I am able to write letters for gender affirming surgeries and hormone replacement therapy. I also have experience working with partners and parents around LGBTQ+ issues so they may have a better understanding of and tools to help navigate their experiences.
I have a specialization in ADHD and have extensive experience working with nuerodivergent individuals.
I look forward to working with you and being part of your journey!
“As human beings, our job in life is to help people realize how rare and valuable each one of us really is, that each of us has something that no one else has or ever will have something inside that is unique to all time. It’s our job to encourage each other to discover that uniqueness and to provide ways of developing its expression.” -Mr. Rogers
